10 Fast & Furious Quotes To Get You Ready for F9<\/em>

It’s almost that time again. The Fast Saga is back in theaters with F9 (which is the 10th installment in the franchise overall), and we couldn’t be more pumped.

There’s a lot to love about these movies. Some of you might be car-lovers, tuned in to see what exotic rides the team gets their hands on every time. Some of you appreciate being on the edge of your seats, following every detail of the numerous heists and adventures from start to finish. Some of you just look forward to seeing the romantic storylines of the cast play out, like Dom and Letty— regardless, there’s no judgement here.

But, we wanted to take a moment to highlight the writing. It takes talent to build the characters we know and love while staying true to each of their personalities. Those of you who have seen the saga so far can vouch for the countless witty one-liners and the powerful moments the cast provides.

In anticipation for what F9 will bring, we compiled a list of some of the most memorable quotes from the franchise movies that are pretty hard to forget.

“Your mistake? Thinking you’re in America. You’re a long way from home. This is Brazil!” – Dom, Fast Five

Dominic Toretto goes everywhere comfortably. When Agent Hobbs shows up in Rio with arms raised to arrest Dom and Brian, he and his team are outmatched by a posse of Brazilian natives with more guns than he can count.

“It’s trust and character that I need around me. You know who you choose to be around you lets you know who you are.” – Han, Tokyo Drift

Our respect for Han grew tenfold in Tokyo Drift, after he lets Sean use his car in a race knowing it’d be wrecked. In a world overrun by money and greed, Han valued selflessness in his actions. It was a lesson that could be identified with universally.

“You’re not that charming, bitch.” – Kara, Furious 7

We can’t forget the epic fight scene between Letty and the chief bodyguard for a billionaire Abu Dhabi prince, Kara. This was Kara’s response when Letty humorously suggests she knocked the male guards out with her charm.

“Ask any racer— any real racer. It doesn’t matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning.” – Dom, The Fast and the Furious

Dom took the W in a race with Brian by a small margin. Brian was still feeling himself for coming so close to taking the race, but Dom reminds him the rules of the game— a loss is a loss, regardless.

“I’m trying to save the world, which, for the record, will be my fourth time, ‘cause I’m good at it.” – Hobbs, Hobbs & Shaw

We know Deckard Shaw and Luke Hobbs didn’t start off on the best foot with their rocky history. Shaw doubted Hobbs would be cut out for the type of work that needed to be done, but Hobbs didn’t take the shade lightly. Shaw needed a reminder that his new partner was no slouch.

“You want ass, why don’t you hit Hollywood Boulevard. You want an adrenaline rush? It’ll be two large.” – Letty, The Fast and the Furious

There’s no shortage of toxic masculinity in the racing world. Letty’s male competition in the race wars thought she should be watching from the sidelines. She was willing to put up money where his mouth was. Spoiler if you haven’t seen it— she won the race.

“I’m one of those boys who appreciates a fine body regardless of the make.” – Dom, Fast and Furious

When Dom is questioned by Gal Gadot’s character, Gisele, he makes it clear that the world of Dom revolves around cars and women. And that either can earn his appreciation with the right look.

“I am the cavalry.” – Hobbs, Furious 7

Even after taking down numerous people in the past, Hobbs’ ability to win was still questioned. When he showed up to a street battle alone, Letty wondered if he brought other officers for back up. Holding a high-caliber weapon, the brolic Hobbs lets her know that he, himself, is the cavalry.

“Hey! We do what we do best. We improvise, all right?” – Brian, Fast & Furious 6

The Fast franchise takes the cake in their stunts and action moments. We love the team in the movies for how they handle things in the moment and it usually works in their favor. Spontaneity is what kept them alive in some cases.

“I used to say I live my life a quarter mile at a time. And I think that’s why we were brothers. Because you did too.” – Dom, Furious 7

You may remember the first movie where Toretto shows Brian the classic Dodge Charger and tells him why he loves racing. The franchise comes full circle for Furious 7 (following Paul Walker’s death) with a heartfelt reminder of why Dom and Brian clicked so well. Racing was freeing for both of them even in the midst of unpredictable lives where their futures were never guaranteed.
