AC/DC‘s new album, Power Up, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums and Hard Rock Albums charts dated November 28.
Power Up, the rock legends’ first album in six years, earned 117,000 equivalent album units in its maiden tracking week (Nov. 13-19), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Of the total, 111,000 are from album sales.
AC/DC has now earned four No. 1s on both the Top Rock Albums chart, which began in 2006, and the Hard Rock Albums chart, which began in 2007.
Power Up, also debuted atop the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart dated November 28, earning AC/DC their third No. 1 on the list.
Billboard noted lead single “Shot In The Dark” also remains atop the Rock Songs airplay chart, making AC/DC the first act to rule Mainstream Rock Songs and the Billboard 200 simultaneously since Green Day.
