Craig Revel Horwood, 56, threw some shade at his Strictly co-star and close pal Bruno Tonioli, 65, over scripted lines and comebacks. The talent show judge jokingly admitted he only works from “organic material”, hinting that his colleague likes to reherse his lines and comments.

I work from organic inner material, darling – unlike Bruno Tonioli!

Craig Revel Horwood

It comes after Craig appeared on Kate Thornton’s podcast White Wine Question Time.

The pair played a game where the judge had to guess whether he was behind some of the sassy quotes read out by Kate, after they discussed his reputation on the BBC show as ‘Mr Nasty’.

Over the years, Craig has wracked up an impressive portfolio of eye-raising comments made to both the contestants and the pro dancers, and it was his turn to see if he could identify if any of the following were his.

As Kate read aloud one cheeky remark, he immediately dismissed it as one of his own.

“‘Being Beyonce is not your destiny, child,'” Kate repeated the quote, which cleverly played on the singer’s former pop band name.

Craig sighed as he replied: “That sounds like it’s been worked out in the dressing room the day before.”

“Was it you?” the journalist pressed as he answered: “No, it wasn’t me!”

Kate added: “But it’s a good line though, right?”

While she seemed impressed with the intricacy of the comment, the choreographer thought differently.

“No,” he snapped.

“I think it’s pre-conceived and I think it’s ill-conceived.”

There was a slight pause as Kate revealed who was behind it.

“Well…” she began, “You better tell that to RuPaul!”

RuPaul is an American drag queen, singer and television personality whose TV show Drag Race became a huge hit in the UK and the US.

Following the big reveal, Craig shrugged as he said: “Yeah, I better tell that to RuPaul, because that’s so scripted!

“And I work from organic inner material, darling.”

He then cheekily whispered: “Unlike Bruno Tonioli!”

Kate gasped as he added in a high pitched voice: “Just playing!”
