Cynthia Erivo sits down for an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday (October 31) in New York City.
Seth asked about all of the special skills she needed to play the role of Harriet Tubman in the new biopic Harriet, like shooting a gun, riding a horse, and climbing a cliff.
Cynthia said she knew how to do all of those things, “except for climbing a cliff. That was a new thing. I had not had very much practice. I practiced that day because I am a glutton for punishment. But it was an experience for sure and I wanted to be as close to the character as I could be, so I took all the risk. I gave my director a heart attack because I wanted to do all of that stuff. But, most of it I could do already.”
Harriet is in theaters now!
