Ruth Langsford, 61, is known for always being truthful and honest while appearing on Loose Women, however now the broadcaster has admitted she can sometimes “forget” that her words will be echoed to thousands of viewers at home. Sometimes the This Morning host even questions whether her opinions on the panel show are maybe a “step too far”.
Speaking about her role on Loose Women, Ruth said: “I love that it’s all women because I’m very much a girls’ girl.
“I love the difference of opinion and the difference of age groups.”
However, the star divulged how it can be easy to get carried away when amongst big personalities including Janet Street-Porter and Denise Welch.
She continued: “The danger is sometimes you forget you’re on TV.
“Sometimes you kind of think, ‘Did I take that a step too far?’ You do share an awful lot. But they’re very supportive,” Ruth said of her colleagues to OK! Magazine.
A couple of weeks back on the programme, the ladies discussed intimacy and finding a new partner once you reach a certain age.
Panellists Brenda Edwards and Coleen Nolan were very vocal about this topic and discussed certain discomforts there may be with the idea of a new partner.
As the show progressed actor Larry Lamb joined the ladies via video link to discuss his thoughts on intimacy too.
But when Ruth spoke to Larry about the topic, she forgot Brenda’s name.
The 61-year-old said: “Speaking to Coleen and what’s your name again?”
After a quick pause, the This Morning host said “Brenda”.
Ruth’s forgetfulness was evidently picked up by the Loose Women ladies, including Larry, as they all awkwardly giggled.

Ruth began her career working for ITV’s regional station in Plymouth, before leaving when Westcountry Television took over the franchise.
She then went on to become a regular panellist on ITV’s Loose Women from 1999 until leaving the show in 2002.
In 2014 she returned to the programme once more as a regular anchor, alongside working on This Morning beside husband Eamonn Holmes.
Tonight Ruth will be appearing alongside Dr Amir Khan on Lose A Stone In 4 Weeks For Summer.
The programme aims to explore the best ways to drop weight in a hurry as temperatures soar.
On a previous episode of the show, Dr Amir guided one unhealthy eater towards the Paleo diet.
The doctor said: “I’m going to put you on a diet that our ancestors used to live off.
“It’s called the Paleo diet. If they did it way before food was mass-produced you can eat it now.”
Lose A Stone In 4 Weeks For Summer airs on Channel 5 tonight at 7.30pm.
