A woman has been interviewed under caution over last year's leaking of former TOWIE star Ferne McCann's voice notes.
In the leaked messages Ferne, 32, could be heard making disparaging remarks about a number of people, including her former pals Sam Faiers and Billie Shepherd.
In the first leaked message Ferne could be heard saying: "Sam Faiers is a fat c***. Her thighs are so big, and I looked really skinny today and, urm, yeah" and in a second she referred to her former pal as a "narcissistic b***h."
The Met Police have now confirmed that a woman in her thirties was interviewed under caution over the incident in January, after the case transferred from Essex Police to the Met in December.
A Met spokesperson has said: "In November 2022, police received a report of malicious communication and harassment.
"The report was initially dealt with by Essex Police but later transferred to the Met after it was established the offences were alleged to have occurred in Redbridge.
"In January 2023, a woman aged in her 30s, was interviewed under caution. Our enquiries are ongoing."
OK! has contacted a representative for Ferne McCann for comment.
In the first episode of Ferne's ITVBe series First Time Mum, the TV star said that she believes she knows who is behind the leaked messages, adding that when they appeared online she instantly recalled who she had sent them to.
Ferne also claimed that a number of the messages had been edited, which she says was done to "destroy [Ferne] and inflict as much damage as possible."
"There's only one person I know who would want to inflict this much pain and damage – they destroyed me," she added.
She has not yet publicly named the individual she believes was behind the leaking of these voice notes.
In the same episode, Ferne revealed that she began to receive death threats on social media after the voice notes were posted to an anonymous Instagram account.
Speaking to the cameras, Ferne said: "Honestly I've had death threats on my Instagram, death threats. And like it's so frustrating because I've been pushed into a place where I can't see a way out or see a future.
Earlier in the episode, Ferne opened up about how she felt "ashamed" over the messages, as she said: "I'm so ashamed and embarrassed and I know the words are very hurtful.
"It was from a time when I was really hurting, and in a very vulnerable and bad place. They were from about five years ago when me and Sam had a fall out.
"It's very hard for me to talk about this because I don't want to bring up the past. Would I say those things now, absolutely not, but those I absolutely apologised for."
