ITV’s Saturday Morning host James Martin has apologised to one of his Twitter followers after celebrating the pre-launch of his new cookbook, Butter. It comes after the chef gushed over his forthcoming project, exciting fans with the news of signed copies.

James shared one snap of his book on his kitchen work surface, and another photo of himself in a factory.

In the second photo, James grinned for the camera while wearing a hairnet and a white coat.

The presenter could be seen posing behind a trough stacked high with his key ingredient, butter.

The TV chef wrote alongside the images: “Butter…and butter!!

“Books heading out this week but this is your last chance to get signed copies pre-launch!

“Thanks for all your amazing comments on it and I’ve just been told publishers are reprinting already.

“Glad you like it!”

Although many fans shared their delight over James’ announcement, one of his 710,000 followers was left feeling let down due to an error.

Twitter user paul23159999 informed James that his book had been delivered, but without the star’s signature.

He penned: “Mine was delivered today but wasn’t signed,” alongside a sad face emoji.

Fortunately, James was quick to respond, reassuring the fan that the mistake would be corrected.

Apologising profusely, he wrote back: So sorry about that.

“Thanks and sorry again.”

“Thanks and will do,” the fan gratefully replied.

It comes after James hit back at criticism over the concept behind his new book last month.

The star greeted his fans from the garden of his restaurant in Hampshire.

James said: “Hello guys, hello from the gardens at Chewton Glen. The garden is busy out here, it’s looking beautiful out here on a sunny September day.”

He added: “Just to let you know that we’ve had a delivery of these,” the chef said, while brandishing a copy of his new cookbook.

“My brand new book, Butter, the publishers are really excited, we’ve had, actually, more people phone up for interviews for this book than any book I’ve ever written.

“Which says a lot, doesn’t it really?” James grinned, before continuing, “in a world where people apparently don’t eat butter”.

The celebrity chef went on: “But give me a shout, we’re going to launch it this weekend,” he explained, before signing off.

James Martin’s Saturday Morning airs at 9.30am today on ITV.
