Strictly Come Dancing stars Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec have been forced to cancel their show this evening due to him falling ill. The pair were due to perform as part of their A Christmas To Remember tour in Belfast but will now have to reschedule for a later date.

The Strictly: It Takes Two host made the announcement on her Instagram page this evening.

She wrote: “To our Belfast fans, as I am sure you have seen by now, we are devastated that we have to cancel tonight’s show in Belfast.

“We were so excited to come and perform for you but unfortunately Aljaz is unwell and doctors have advised him not to travel or perform.

“We are working on a new date for Belfast so please retain your ticket for the new date or request a refund from your point of purchase.

“We are so sorry but hope to see you very soon!”

The 39-year-old captioned the post telling fans she is “truly heartbroken” not to be dancing this evening.

Many of Janette’s 504,000 followers flocked to her post to send their well wishes.

Luciannekdaniel added: “Aww sorry to hear that. Get well soon @aljazskorjanec.”

Aljaz also shared the news on his Instagram page where he was flooded with comments.

The couple, who married in 2017, rose to fame on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2013.

They credited the show for saving their relationship after initially being long distance due to working in different countries.

Janette stepped down from the show after the 2020 series to present Strictly: It Takes Two.

A year later, Aljaž also announced he had left the show.

The dancer has since taken up acting lessons and had been auditioning for roles.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, he said: “Being a couple on Strictly gave us an edge and I feel like it can be exactly the same when it comes to, potentially, one day being on a different kind of TV programme together.

“I’ve had an incredible nine years on Strictly and have felt so lucky to be there, but it felt like the right time to take a risk and open myself up to new challenges.

“I want to try other things like film, TV and radio while I’m still young enough and my body is 100 per cent capable.”

He added: “Do I want to go to Hollywood? Of course! If I didn’t dream big I would never have ended up on Strictly.”
