Jason Momoa Calls Out Chris Pratt for Plastic Water Bottle Pic

Aquaman star Jason Momoa is a big fan of fellow superhero actor Chris Pratt, but he’s got beef with Star-Lord’s casual disregard for the effect single use plastic has on the environment.

Pratt shared a photo to Instagram yesterday from his partnership with Amazon, in which he posed with a plastic water bottle, and Momoa made his feelings clear in the comments, saying: “Bro i love u but wtf on the water bottle. no single use plastic. come on.”

The next day Momoa apologized for the comment but stood by his position, clarifying in an Instagram post of his own that he respects Pratt, but wishes he would use his fame to set a better example to his fans.

“BRO you know my children and I are madly in love with you and I love everything you do,” he said. “I’m sorry this was received so badly today I didn’t mean for that to happen. I’m just very passionate about this single use plastic epidemic. The plastic water bottles have to stop I hope u make a reusable water bottle for amazon so we all can purchase. You’re an inspiration to many I’m one of them. I’ll send you a case of MANANALU. All my Aloha, Da Momoa’s.”

This isn’t the first time Momoa has made the most of his platform to raise awareness of environmental issues. Back in September, he gave an impassioned speech during a United Nations meeting in New York City about climate change, and specifically the impact of ocean pollution on island communities. The Honolulu-born actor has also been actively involved in protests against the construction of a telescope on the dormant Mauna Kea volcano in Hawaii: land that is considered sacred in local culture.
