Luca Bish's Love Island pals have flocked to comfort him following the shock news of his break up from Gemma Owen.
Footballer Michael Owen's daughter Gemma, 19, announced their split in a brief statement posted on her Instagram account on 16 November, explaining that it wasn't an "easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for us both right now".
Luca appeared to have been blindsided by the dressage rider's social media announcement as he quickly responded that he would've liked "some time" to process their split.
And in a new update on Sunday 20 November, Luca returned to his Instagram page to share a snap of himself looking deep in thought, which was captioned: "Glad this week is over. Thank you for all the kind messages".
Thankfully, the friends he made in the Mallorcan villa over the summer flocked to the comments to share their support as Andrew Le Page, who shared a thinly veiled dig recently, wrote: "get up to London soon brother x".
While Gemma's ex Jacques O'Neill, who he developed a strong friendship with, said: "My brother always got you," followed by a red heart emoji.
Many of Luca's 1.5million followers also shared comforting words as one person commented: "So sorry to read this . Hope you heal from any pain you have . Take time for you . Stay true to yourself . I'm sure your loved ones will be supportive no matter what . Your a good lad . Xxx".
Another said: "we're all here supporting you every step of the way," as a third shared: "Love you Luca support always," with two white heart emojis.
While a fourth added: "It all happens for a reason!! You’re a prize and it’s so clear how much love surrounds you from the people who know you!!" followed by a red heart emoji.
It comes as a source recently told OK! magazine that things came to an end after things didn’t change following their holiday to Dubai.
The source told us: “It was Gemma who ended things. Things had been rocky for weeks and the split didn’t come as a shock.
"It had been going on for weeks and they had brushed over things and then they went to Dubai and nothing really changed so things came to an end."
They added: "On the outside after a couple of months it didn’t work out."
Gemma announced their break up last week and Luca swiftly shared his own statement, explaining: "Switched my phone back on after taking some time out to clear my head after an emotional afternoon to thousands of messages and news articles about my breakup.
“I would have liked some time to process this privately but as you all already now know sadly Gemma and I made the mutual decision earlier today to go our separate ways."
He continued: “We have been on such a journey together and have made some amazing memories which I will treasure. I can’t thank everyone enough for their support for us as a couple during and after Love Island. We will remain good friends and I wish nothing but the best for her.”
