Meghan Markle and Prince Harry React to the Queen Stripping Their Royal Patronages

It’s official: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no longer working members of the British royal family.

Buckingham Palace released a statement outlining the details of the Sussexes’ decision, saying they were “saddened” but “The Duke and Duchess [of Sussex] remain much loved members of the family.” What this means for Meghan and Harry is they now have the freedom to pursue outside projects unrelated to royal duties—like their Netflix and Spotify productions—but it also means Queen Elizabeth II took back royal patronages and honorary military titles from the couple.

The military titles are an especially tough pill to swallow for Harry, who is a retired serviceman, but he and Meghan seems to be taking everything in stride and keeping the focus on service.
