The Queen has been joined by Prince William for the first engagement of her four-day visit to Scotland.

The 95 year old monarch, who recently reportedly invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the Platinum Jubilee, was pictured wearing a striking blue ensemble with a matching hat that featured flowers on it.

Her Majesty teamed the outfit with her signature white gloves, as well as a black handbag and shoes.

Sporting a series of accessories for the outing, the Queen donned a beautiful pearl brooch, as well as a pearl necklace.

The Queen was all smiles as she arrived at AG Barr's factory in Cumbernauld, where the country's iconic Irn-Bru drink is manufactured, with 39 year old Prince William – who is known as the Earl of Strathearn in Scotland.

The Duke of Cambridge appeared to also be in high spirits as he donned a full navy blue suit with a tie in a lighter shade and a pristine white shirt underneath.

William, who recently reportedly blasted Meghan Markle as "that bloody woman" over the way she treated staff, stayed closed behind his grandmother before arriving at a stand with a row of the sparkling orange drink sitting on top and taking a sip of one.

This is the monarch's first trip to Scotland since the death of her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, on 9 April.

During her four day visit, she's staying at her official residence of the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

While there, she will travel to Glasgow and Stirling to visit businesses, charities and cultural institutions for Royal Week, otherwise known as Holyrood Week. Following Prince William's appearance, the Queen will be joined by Princess Anne, 70, on Wednesday 30 June and Thursday 1 July.

It comes after Her Majesty recently led tributes to her grandson William as he celebrated his 39th birthday.
