Stacey Solomon, 29, gave birth to her first baby with partner Joe Swash, 37, on Thursday. The former X Factor singer, who also has two children from previous relationships, announced the birth of her son on Instagram to her 1.6 million followers, explaining he arrived “A lot earlier than planned.” Joe took the opportunity to reflect on the birth with an adorable post dedicated to his “amazing” girlfriend and their newborn baby in view of his 784,000 Instagram followers. Sharing an image of himself smiling with his son in hospital moments after he came into the world, the presenter gushed: “Just been sent this photo and I think my face sums up exactly how I was feeling after seeing my amazing partner do the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen.
“And the realisation that this little person was the best half of both of us.”
The photo showed a shirtless Joe beaming with joy as he tenderly rested his hand beside his baby.
Studies have shown new dads should make skin to skin contact when they first meet their babies to help the bonding process.
Following Joe’s sweet tribute to the mum-of-three, Stacey reciprocated his message by sharing her “love” for the former EastEnders actor on her own Instagram page.
The Loose Women panelist posted a heartwarming black and white video which showed the couple locked in a cosy embrace as they listened to the little noises their newborn was making.
She captioned the clip: “I love you now, more than ever Daddy. @realjoeswashy
“I have replayed this video a thousand times. The noises our baby is making hurts my heart.”
Stacey and Joe’s celebrity pals took to the comments section of their posts to share well wishes for the stars and the new addition to their growing family.
Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Ashley Roberts, 37, simply wrote: “Heart explosion.”
Comedian Katherine Ryan, 35, added: “You are #couplegoals AND I AM PART OF THIS FAMILY.”
This Morning presenter Alison Hammond, 44, commented: “So happy for you all xx.”
Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, 15, gushed: “Aww congratulations so happy for you.”
Homes Under The Hammer star Lucy Alexander, 48, replied: “Oh so b****y fantastic.”
Yesterday, Stacey’s sister Gemma brought her Loose Women co-stars up to date with details about the birth and answered questions about whether the newborn has a name yet.
She explained over the phone in reference to her sibling: “She is so good, it was amazing, such a lovely birth and I was so privileged to be a part of it. It was amazing.”
She then praised Joe, who was “so good” during the birth, recalling: “There were tears of joy, Joe was so good, he didn’t know what to do, he was saying, ‘Am I doing it right? Am I doing it OK?’”
However, Gemma also admitted she is hoping the pair will decide on a name for their son soon, impatiently adding: “I don’t even know the name, so Stacey can you hurry up?”
