Taylor Swift new surprise album evermore has sent her fans into overdrive with theories about her personal life.
Evermore dropped on Friday morning, with an explanation from the singer that it was a ‘sister album’ to her last release folklore.
A few of the record’s lyrics have led Swifties to speculate Taylor might have tied the knot with boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who she has been dating for four years.
There was a music video to go with the album, for the song Willow, which saw Taylor, 30, wearing a long white dress.
Some fans felt it might have been similar to a wedding dress, and the title Willow came from the couple getting married under a willow tree.
Others added that the word ‘Evermore’ sounds lifted straight from their wedding vows.
Well they will all be pretty disappointed to learn that Taylor and Joe are, in fact, not married. Stand down.
However they did write a few songs for evermore together.
The British actor, 29, went under the pseudonym William Bowery to pen lyrics for folklore, as confirmed by Taylor herself, and Mr Bowery pops up on the songs Coney Island, featuring The National, Champagne Problems and Evermore, featuring Bon Iver.
In her Disney+ special Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, the Lover singer said: ‘So, William Bowery is Joe, as we know. And Joe plays piano beautifully, and he’s just always playing and making things up and kind of creating things…
‘Exile was crazy because Joe had written that entire piano part and was singing the Bon Iver part. He was just singing it, the way that the whole first verse is.
‘So I was entranced and asked if we could keep writing that one. It was pretty obvious that it should be a duet because he’s got such a low voice and it sounded really good sung down there in that register.’
