According to a report from The Daily Mail, Prince Harry will likely travel back to the UK for the service.
A source close to the Sussex family has reportedly revealed, “Harry will absolutely do his utmost to get back to the UK and be with his family.”
However, safety protocols surrounding coronavirus may disrupt his ability to fly from his home in California to the United Kingdom.
The source continued, “He will want nothing more than to be there for his family, and particularly his grandmother, during this awful time. Meghan is obviously pregnant so she will need to take advice from her doctors about whether it is safe for her to travel, but I think Harry will definitely go.”
If Prince Harry does attend the funeral, it will be his first time returning to the UK after he and wife Meghan Markle announced they were “stepping down” as senior royals and the couple’s subsequent bombshell interview with Oprah.
In the interview, Meghan actually confirmed that she had reached out Queen Elizabeth following her husband’s hospitalization.
Gayle King later revealed that there was a contingency plan in place in the event Prince Philip passed away before the interview aired.
