Countdown star Rachel Riley has taken to Twitter to respond to “ridiculous” suggestions of guests who could join the show in Dictionary Corner. Yesterday evening saw the mother-of-two, 36, ask her followers to share their thoughts on switching things up on the Channel 4 show, which soon resulted in some unexpected mentions.
Would love your most ridiculous suggestions for Countdown dictionary corner guests
In view of her 695,000 followers, Rachel revealed who her favourites were.
“Alan Partridge and Philomena Cunk my absolute favourite suggestions so far, will put these to our producer immediately,” she penned alongside a laughing emoji.
The star was replying to one of her earlier tweets where she had wracked her followers’ brains for ideas.
Rachel asked her fans: “Would love your most ridiculous suggestions for Countdown dictionary corner guests…”
The star was soon inundated with responses on who could join the panel as a guest.
Twitter user @Geess2 suggested Gerald from the Amazon Prime hit, Clarkson’s Farm, while another said that they wanted to see farmhand Kaleb Cooper on the Channel 4 programme.
@Johnny_JI81 wrote: “Her Majesty The Queen. Apparently she’s a regular viewer.”
While @shaneknysh suggested comedian Stephen Fry, to which Rachel revealed that he’ll be starring on an episode soon.
“He’s just filmed actually,” she replied.
Other suggestions included Mr Blobby, Gemma Collins from The Only Way Is Essex, and former Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dominic Cummings.
Rachel’s post comes days after she admitted to being baffled by her husband Pasha Kovalev’s “weird” habit.
The couple share two daughters together, however, the new mother candidly told how she hadn’t bargained on his penchant for watching increasingly bizarre horror themed movies with their youngsters.
Giving a rare insight into her home life, Rachel wrote: “Every night I come down from putting the toddler down, Pasha is cuddling the sleepy newborn and watching something relaxing at the end of the day, always of a similar theme.
“Tonight some kind of mutated zombie bear just got shot,” she went on incredulously.
“Boy films are weird,” Rachel ended her post.
The couple welcomed their second child, daughter Noa, in November last year
The duo first met when taking part on Strictly Come dancing in 2013, which saw them partnered together.
Five years after confirming their relationship, they announced they were expecting their first child together in May 2019.
Later that year, they tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas with the Countdown star announcing the happy news on Twitter.
Countdown airs on weekdays at 2.10pm on Channel 4.
