A Quiet Place Part II sees Emily Blunt return as the matriarch of the Abbott family, who are navigating their way through some horrific circumstances. Now with three children, she must find a safe haven for her family after the terrifying events of the first film.

When is A Quiet Place Part 2 coming out in cinemas?

A Quiet Place Part II will be released in UK cinemas on June 3, which is about a week after the USA.

American fans were able to see the film from May 28, and the movie will also appear on Paramount+, the streaming site, 45 days after its cinematic release.

Sadly for UK fans, Paramount+ is not available in the UK, so this is purely for fans in the USA.

However, given the short time between cinema and streaming releases, it may be fans will be given the chance to watch the film on another streaming device, if a deal can be found with a UK provider.

In terms of the cinematic release date, the story is the same as many others in this coronavirus time.

The film was initially to be released on March 18, 2020 in the USA and March 19 in the UK, which is more than a year from the final release date, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed this.

A great amount of the PR spend for the film had already taken place when things began to shut down, so at first some reports suggested they would go ahead anyway, however in the end the film was postponed to September 2020.

Later in the year, in July 2020, Paramount announced the film’s release date would be moved to April 23, 2021, given most cinemas in the USA and the UK had been closed for months at this time.

Earlier this year, Paramount postponed the film again to September 17, 2021, which came alongside other major movies like No Time to Die, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Death on the Nile.

However, in March 2021, the film’s director, John Krasinski, announced the film would come out at the same time as the Memorial Day Holiday in the USA, which is May 28, 2021.

This again set in motion more release date moves, in that the upcoming Fast and Furious movie, F9, was moved to June in order to give space to A Quiet Place Part II, as well as the movie Infinite.

As well as that, due to the film going to streaming after 45 days rather than the usual 90 days of cinema, this meant the film’s producers and stars, John, Emily Blunt and Michael Bay, reportedly asked for compensation from Paramount for the decrease in earnings.

What is A Quiet Place Part II about?

The official synopsis reads: “Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence.
