Avengers' Jeremy Renner demands Sony return Spider-Man to Marvel and Stan Lee

Avengers’ Jeremy Renner has made his position clear on the Sony vs Marvel Spider-Man drama, and he’s not happy in the slightest.

Have we not learnt that angering Hawkeye isn’t a good idea?

After it was reported that Marvel would no longer be producing any Spider-Man movies after Disney bosses failed to come to an agreement with Sony, people have been taking to social media to express their outrage.

And the Clint Barton actor was no different, as he demanded that the character be able to return to Marvel and the late king of comic books, Stan Lee.

Inexplicably posting an epic shot of himself as Hawkeye, the 48-year-old wrote: ‘Hey @sonypictures we want Spider-Man back to @therealstanlee and @marvel please, thank you #congrats #spidermanrocks #please.’

Clearly, he won’t let the character go down without a fight.

Fans agreed with him completely, with one commenting: ‘Instead of storming Area 51 we can storm Sony HQ.’

‘PREACH JEREMY GO OFF,’ another added, with one more die-hard telling him: ‘THANK YOU FOR SAYING SOMETHING WE LOVE YOU.’

According to Deadline, the two studios were unable to come to an agreement over money, meaning Spidey is ducking out of the MCU for now.

The publication states Disney asked that any future films starring the superhero – currently played by Tom Holland – be a ‘50/50 co-financing arrangement’, something Sony refused to consider.

Instead, they reportedly suggested keeping their current deal, offering the studio five per cent of the first dollar grossing, with the studio declining.

Marvel president Kevin Feige was creative lead in the previous two Spider-Man films of the latest era, with 23-year-old Tom climbing into the superhero suit and capturing hearts as Peter Parker.

But unless a negotiation is reached, he will not have the same role in the two movies reportedly in the works.

Plus, there’s the whole issue of whether we’re all going to have to watch Uncle Ben die for the hundredth time and, honestly, we’re not emotionally stable enough for that after Endgame.

Jezza’s not the only one to be kicking off about the drama, with Marvel fans launching petitions galore to keep the beloved hero in the MCU.

From the likes of ‘Keep Spider-Man with Disney and the MCU’ to ‘Keep Spider-Man in the MCU’, Marvel fans are making their point short and succinct.

There’s also the more demanding ‘Bring Spider-Man and Co PERMANENTLY back to Marvel Studios’ and ‘Sony sell Spider-Man back to Marvel’.

The real question is if Jeremy’s exercising his democratic right and signing them. We need to know.
