This wasn’t your normal Oscars backstage situation, even before best supporting actor winner Daniel Kaluuya was quizzed about mentioning his parents’ sex life during his best supporting actor acceptance speech.

Oscar winners at Los Angeles’ Union Station ventured backstage at the 93rd Academy Awards where they were met by over 600 virtual journalists and the awkward technical issues that come with Zoom calls — such as, “I think you’re muted.”

Still, the Oscars backstage rocked, especially with Kaluuya dealing with his awkward mom fall-out and “Minari” winner Yuh-Jung Youn being asked everything about meeting presenter Brad Pitt (actual journalist question: “What did he smell like?”).
