Ant and Dec share their least favourite contestants were as I’m A Celeb returns

Ant and Dec are returning to the jungle tonight and have revealed their all-time favourite and least-favourite contestants.

The beloved Geordie duo was forced to break off their on-screen presenter partnership last year as Ant faced up to his drink and prescription-drug problems.

But, the lads are vowing that this series will be one of the liveliest yet as they return to our screens tonight.

Ant admitted he was “very excited” to be back on the show after Holly Willoughby stood in for him last year.

The pair declared this year’s batch of celebs, including Caitlyn Jenner, Jacqueline Jossa, Nadine Coyle and Roman Kemp, was “one of the best casts in years”.

They then shared their favourite moments from past series that included Paul Burrell’s Hell Holes trial and Michael Jackson’s pal Uri Geller getting the iconic singer’s birthday wrong.

Ant and Dec also revealed their all-time favourite contestants, which included several past winners.

Ant told The Sun: “There are so many of them. Winners like Phil Tufnell and Joe Swash. Stacey Solomon and Harry Redknapp.

“Amir Khan was amazing. And David Best, RIP. We’ve had so many campmates over the years.”

But, they also shared their thoughts on who was among the worst contestants – one of which is controversial far-right commentator Katie Hopkins.

Ant told The Sun: “Katie Hopkins was in I’m a Celebrity but you wouldn’t really remember her doing it, as she didn’t really shine.”

Dec added: “Gillian McKeith not doing trials was frustrating at the time but that was her journey on the show.”

This year’s show will see the end to live animals being eaten in the Bushtucker trials after following complaints from animal rights groups.

A source at ITV said: “They (bosses) have been planning this for some time and actually last year beach worms were the only critters eaten live but this time around they’ve decided to implement the change fully and permanently.”

I’m a Celebrity launches tonight at 9pm on ITV.
