Liam Payne has said his ex-girlfriend Cheryl is "very chill these days" as he opened up about co-parenting with the chart-topping songstress.
He and Cheryl welcomed their only child together Bear back in 2017, before they announced their split a year later in July 2018.
Former One Direction singer Liam made the comment about Cheryl when asked whether or not he would allow Bear, four, to go on The X Factor like he had.
"I think his mum is hoping he's gonna become some yoga person," the 27-year-old said. "His mum is very chill these days.
"He's got the best advice from the parents around him for the long run but I don't know. Obviously, we protected his identity to start off with.
"That's not being pretentious or anything other than the fact I want to give him the chance to be Bear first before he has to be all 'your mum and dad is so and so'."
The Strip That Down hitmaker added while on The Diary Of A CEO by Steven Bartlett podcast: "I made my choice to be where I was at 14/15, and I think he can make his own choice then too. We're gonna have a long discussion because I know what effects that has as well."

In the years since Bear's birth, Cheryl has taken somewhat of a step back from public life – at least in comparison to her previous highly publicised antics.
The 37-year-old made a return to Instagram this week though, as she shared a stunning selfie with her 3.5million followers.
It was her first Instagram upload in over a year, and she could be seen smiling as she got dolled up by her glam team.

The Geordie lass let her brunette locks tumble around her face in loose waves, while her makeup was soft and natural looking.
Meanwhile, Liam is newly single again after confirming he had quietly split up with his fiancé Maya Henry, 20.
Earlier this week, Liam said on the same podcast: "I feel like more than anything at this point, I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people. That annoys me. I've just not been very good at relationships.

"And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships at this point.
"I'm just not very good at them so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else."
He added: "That's what happened with my last relationship. I just wasn't giving a very good version of me anymore. I feel better out of it.
"I didn't feel good doing what I did but it had to happen. Just a corny way to say it was the best for us both. I hope she's happy."
