Fatboy Slim’s son asks DJ to ‘update style’ and play more grime music

FATBOY Slim’s son is trying to get him to update his DJ style.

Woody Cook is currently appearing in Channel 4 reality TV show The Circle.

And off screen the budding DJ wants his superstar pa to play more Grime.

Fatboy, AKA Norman Cook, said: “My son is really into grime and drum and bass and I’m going, ‘OK, that’s not what I do’. My son goes, ‘Dad, why don’t you play more drum and bass?’ and I’m like, ‘Cause I’m not really into it and I wouldn’t do a good job.’.”

Fatboy Slim is doing fine without Woody’s help, as he’s playing gigs in Gateshead and London this weekend.

Aged 56, age hasn’t diminished his club appeal: “If you’re in a boy band, your career’s over in your mid-20s.

“Once you get out there in the dark, no-one can really see, so you can get as grey and fat and bald as you want.”

He’s lived a colourful life but Fatboy has spurned lucrative offers for a tell-all book. I’ve been approached. I’d never do it because I can’t tell most of the stories while my children and my parents are alive to read them.”

He added: “I can’t remember huge parts of my career.”
