Garth Brooks has had a long career in the country music business. He has become one of the highest-earning country artists in the world, and is loved by fans across the world. But how old is Garth, and what is he most famous for?

How old is Garth Brooks?

Garth Brooks is 59-years-old, and was born on February 7, 1962.

Garth started out as a country music singer in 1985 paying his dues before making it big.

He finally made the big time as a country singer in 1989, by which time he and his then-wife Sandy had moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

His first album was released that same year and was a huge success, peaking at Number 13 on the Billboard chart, which is an impressive debut.

He also went on his first big tour in 1989 as a support act for Kenny Rogers, an incredibly famous country singer who helped put Garth on the map.

All but one of his albums were in the Top 10, of those which were released before his retirement, with many of them peaking at Number One in the USA.

His 10th album, Scarecrow, released in 2001, was his last before he retired, and while he was still claiming he would be performing, he vowed not to release new music.

From 2001, he kept to his word and did not release any new music; only box sets of his old hits. But he went on a short tour in 2007 which whet fans’ appetites for his proper return.

This was the beginning of his big return to performing though new music was still not on the cards for some time.

In 2009, Garth suspended his retirement in order to do a short Las Vegas residency, called Garth at Wynn, which took place at the Encore Hotel on the strip.

Like all of the short tours around this time, the residency was incredibly successful despite only taking place over weekends across a short period, which meant he could still spend time with his family on weekdays.

By this point, Garth had remarried to fellow country singer Trisha Yearwood.

On their wedding anniversary, Garth performed in Las Vegas with Trisha, who joined him on stage for a few songs.

This sparked a new fire for music in Garth, and he embarked on a new world tour, this time with Trisha, while releasing his first new music in 13 years: album Man Against Machine.

He and Trisha also released a Christmas album, named Christmas Together, in 2016, while they were still on their world tour, which eventually ended in 2017.

Most recently, Garth was seen performing at President Joe Biden’s inauguration, despite being a long-term Republican.

He said of his decision to perform: “This is a great day in our household. This is not a political statement, this is a statement of unity.

“This is history. And it’s an honor, this is how I get to serve this country.”
