Gigi Hadid issues apology for Rihanna ‘twins’ slip-up after causing ‘commotion’

Gigi Hadid has set the record straight after accidentally sparking speculation that Rihanna was expecting twins.

Rihanna recently confirmed she and her boyfriend A$AP Rocky are expecting their first baby together.

And as Gigi was congratulating her, she sent the rumour mill into overdrive.

The catwalk queen was posting her congratulations on Instagram and referred to "Three angels".

Fans went into a frenzy because they assumed that it meant RiRi was carrying more than one baby, and posted messages like, "She's having twins!" and "OMG, two babies?"

Many also started reading into the fact that Rihanna had referred to "the gang" as she shared a snap of her baby bump.

She was seen pulling up her top to show off her tummy and writing: "How the gang pulled up to black history month."

But Gigi has now stepped back in to explain what she meant.

She posted underneath her original comment: "I just caught word of this commotion. I meant rih / rocky / baby lol."

Rihanna revealed her pregnancy last month with a series of baby announcement photos that stunned her fans.

The Only Girl In The World singer had somehow managed to keep her burgeoning belly under wraps despite being photographed out and about in the weeks leading up to the big reveal.

When she decided it was time to announce her happy news, the singer and Rocky had photos taken of them strolling around Harlem.

The star wore a long bright pink coat that had fallen open to show off her bare baby bump despite the chilly weather.

A gold belly chain and a head full of ringlet curls completed her show-stopping look.

Rihanna later followed it up by sharing her bump photo on her Instagram.
