Hugh Jackman leads tributes as Wolverine voice actor Issac Bardavid dies

Wolverine voice actor Issac Bardavid has passed away aged 91.

The famous voice-over artist died of emphysema on Tuesday after the Brazilian actor was rushed to hospital last week with low oxygen levels, his grandson confirmed.

Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine in the X-Men movies, has led tributes for the late actor.

Sharing video of him and Bardavid together on Instagram, Jackman wrote: "Isaac Bardavid. What a legend. What a life and legacy. What a voice!! #Wolverine #Brazil…Rest well my friend."

In the clip, Jackman can be hears saying: "Don't be what they made you," with Bardavid repeating the moving phrase in Portuguese.

Hollywood icon Hugh Jackman has lead tributes to the star calling him a "legend".

And fans soon flooded to social media to pass on their condolences to the family as they reflected over his impressive TV career online.

One user penned: "Isaac is a legend!" whilst another loyal fan added: "This was very sad news indeed. Condolences to Isaac's family."

A third chimed in with: "I'm heart broken, thank you for posting this in his honour Hugh, Brazil loves both of you."

Meanwhile, one fan of the Hollywood actor said: "THANK YOU, HUGH!" This mean a lot for those who grown hearing what you said by his voice."

Bardavid was borin in Rio de Jeneiro in 1931 and is best know for his roles in Tocaia Grande, Career del Mar and King David.

The star said voicing Jackman's performance in 2017's Logan would be the last time he would be playing Wolverine as he branched out from the Marvel universe.

He also performed voice-overs for roles including Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Skeleton in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Bardavid also went on to voice Commissioner Gordon in Batman: The Animated Series, Deep Throat in The X-Files and Dr. Eggman in the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons.
