Jamal Edwards ‘died of heart attack’ after final DJ set, devastated pals claim

Jamal Edwards died of a 'sudden heart attack', it has been claimed by his pals.

The SBTV founder and music pioneer was 31-years-old when he tragically passed away on Sunday morning.

His heartbroken friends have said Jamal suffered a heart attack at his mother's home in Acton, West London, after playing his final DJ set.

Jamal's friend Dwayne, who went to Acton High School with the star, says he's been told Jamal passed from a heart attack.

The grieving pal told the Mail: "The details are still a still not clear but we've been told that it was a heart attack.

"He was out DJing on Saturday night and eventually got home in the early hours of Sunday morning."

Another friend, named Jerry, said Jamal's death has hit him "really hard".

He told the outlet: "Jamal is a legend in this part of West London, and this has hit us all really hard.

"For him to go so suddenly in the prime of his life, when he was doing so much is truly shocking."

Jamal's mum, Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, said she was suffering from the "deepest heartache" as she announced her son died from a "sudden illness".

She said: "It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated."

The TV star, 52, went on: "He was the centre of our world. As we come to terms with his passing we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss.

"I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many."

She added that his legacy will live on, concluding: "Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."
