Katie Price encourages fans to prank call number she claims is harassing her

Katie Price encouraged her fans to get behind her and bombard a number that was allegedly harassing her with prank calls.

The I’m A Celeb star posted a screenshot of the number to her public Instagram story.

The screenshot showed an incoming call at 22:13 on Monday night.

Katie wrote: "This number keeps ringing my phone.

"I don’t know them and people laughing when I pick up and they keep face timing, please everyone do the same to them."

She also shared a photograph of a man with her fans, writing: "This guy keeps ringing me hopefully he will stop now."

Katie has dedicated herself to making online trolling illegal.

She launched her Track a Troll petition alongside Conservative MP Andrew Griffith after her son Harvey was targeted by online abusers.

Harvey, who has Prader-Willi syndrome and is partially blind, suffered abuse at the hands of vile Twitter users.

Katie wrote on Instagram: "No troll should retain the right to hide behind their abusive malicious posts.

"I will not stop until every stone is unturned and all those are exposed and held accountable for their actions.

"This affects everyone in society including our children […] together we are all united in this petition."

The petition aims to make it a legal requirement to provide a verified form of ID when setting up a social media account.

Where an account owner is under 18, the account would be verified by a parent or guardian.

However, many people have hit back at the proposed action with the hashtag #SaveAnonymity, claiming it could put many people – including LGBTQ+ youth and victims of abuse – in danger.

Katie insisted on the Victoria Derbyshire show this month: "People have to remember that what you write can affect someone. People who have been committing suicide… it’s been a hell of a lot more this past lockdown."

The ex-glamour model also wrote for The Independent: "My son Harvey is disabled.

"I’ve seen Harvey mocked and belittled since he was a small boy, because of his disabilities and because of his race."

In a video, Katie asked Harvey: "Do you want people to sign mummy’s petition?"

In heartbreaking scenes, the 18-year-old then continued: "People who are horrible to me. My mum will tell off the horrible people who say mean things."

Katie replied: "Exactly, and then the police will tell them off, won’t they? Because they mustn’t be horrible."

The petition, nicknamed Harvey’s Law, currently has more than 170,000 signatures.

Its deadline is September 2021.
