Liam Gallagher has been forced to cancel his gig in Belfast after battering his face when he fell out of a helicopter.

The Oasis star, who turned 49 today, claimed he had the accident after headlining the Isle Of Wight festival on Friday night.

He shared a picture of his painful looking face, and captioned it: "So check this out, I fell out the helicopter last night, you couldn't write it. All good, who said RnR is dead, Keith Moon eat your drum skin out, C'mon you know."

Liam then shared the same snap again, joking: "Got the cover shot for the next album, c'mon you nose."

He was due to perform at Belsonic festival in Ormeau Park, Belfast, this Friday.

He posted about the sad cancellation news: "Absolutely gutted to cancel my Belfast show this weekend. I had an accident after IOW festival and have bust my nose so can't sing."

The singer continued: "The doctors have told me to rest up. Apologies to all the people who had bought tickets. The show is being rescheduled."

"I'll make it up to ya," he insisted.

The show has since been rescheduled to June 2022, and fans are already marking the date in their diaries.

He's been celebrating his birthday and thanked fans for their well wishes, as well as sharing a jokey card that made fun of his current plight.

The card had been doodled on to give the characters broken noses to match Liam's.

He wrote: "thanks for all the biblical birthday wishes. I love and adore you all."

"Real beauty comes from within so I'm still a good looking c***. Happy birthday to me."

He also replied to birthday pictures created by fans, saying "Like that" and praising their efforts.

Get well soon, Liam!
