Model Cara Delevingne opens up on her vagina for body-positive art piece

British model Cara Delevingne has recently become one of the latest celebrities to step into the digital art world by auctioning off a racy NFT art piece for charity.

Following the likes of model Kate Moss who recently did something similar, Cara, 28, took part in an artistic video.

In a short clip, the model is seen posing nude in front of an exotic sunset as she talks openly about her vagina.

The artwork is set to go on sale on May 13.

Cara who classifies herself as Pansexual candidly explained in the video: "My first word was mine. To me, that means something that is most mine – my vagina."

She added: "My vagina – I own it. It's mine and no one else's. I choose what I do with it. And no one can take that away from me."

Teaming up with controversial artist Chemical X for the incredible piece, the star takes part in the form of a non-fungible token which is abbreviated to NFT. NFT is a type of unique digital asset that has exploded in popularity so far this year.

The revolutionary art form allows original versions of popular online content for example; viral memes and tweets to be sold as physical pieces of art.

Speaking about the art piece, the catwalk model said: "I want this to remind people of how incredibly powerful they are, what a beautiful thing their bodies are and to take pride in that."

The NFT entitled "Mine", is one of five art pieces that is being launched on May 13 by Chemical X on the website ThisIsNumberOne.com.

Burberry model Cara has pledged that all proceeds will go to her charity, Cara Delevingne Foundation, which helps to support women's rights, the LGBTQ+ community, mental health and environmental issues.

British DJ Fatboy slim has also collaborated with Chemical X, as well as Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and British electronic music duo Orbital.

NFTs which are also known as "nifties" are a unique digital token encrypted art with the creator's signature. The encryption verifies its ownership and authenticity and is attached to the art piece permanently.

Cara's decision to sell art in this way comes after she recently hit headlines as rumours circulated that she has reunited with ex-girlfriend Paris Jackson.

Though it is unclear whether they are officially back on, Cara and Paris attended the Oscars party together as each other’s dates last month.
