Oneohtrix Point Never Announces New Album 'Magic Oneohtrix Point Never'

Daniel Lopatin, best known as Oneohtrix Point Never, has officially announced his ninth studio album Magic Oneohtrix Point Never.

The followup to 2018’s Age Of, Magic stems from Lopatin’s inner frequencies and draws from the origins of his recording alias. He takes loose inspiration from the broadcasting logic radio dayparts, beginning from the morning and ending overnight, and is billed as a “nostalgic and self-referential career-defining body of work.” The Uncut Gems score composer utilizes the forthcoming project as his autobiography, weaved together with archival recordings of several American FM station’s “format flips.” Meticulous in nature, Magic promises the fusions of sounds from Replica and R Plus Seven, the alt rock and chamber pop songwriting of Garden of Delete and Age Of, plus the symphonic nature of Uncut Gems, Good Times and his production work for other artists.

To celebrate the announcement, Lopatin shared the Magic prelude Drive Time Suite, which consists of tracks “Cross Talk I,” “Auto & Allo” and “Long Road Home.”

Stream Oneohtrix Point Never’s Drive Time Suite on Spotify and Apple Music. Magic Oneohtrix Point Never drops October 30 via Warp Records.
