Rapper Duke Acapela ‘shot’ but manager denies claims that he’s dead

Chicago based rapper Duke Acapela has reportedly been 'shot' but his manager is saying claims he has died are incorrect.

Rumours spread on Monday that the artist had been shot and killed.

Police are yet to confirm if the rumours are true.

"Hang in there gang keep breathing," his manager wrote, "Need everyone to pray for Duke Acapela he needs y'all right now."

He wrote the plea over a picture of a prayer candle on his Instagram stories.

Social media was awash with tributes on Monday night as the claims of the rapper's alleged death spread.

Some were claiming the musician died from his injuries in hospital.

His manager insists it's not true.

"Don't believe s**t he still breathing let's keep praying," his manager said last night.

Artist friends took to social media sharing their sadness and confusion over the news.

La Tone posted a picture of him with Duke, captioning it: "Just got the call but I don't believe it gang u got this we ain't done slime."

A second post added: "my heart can't take it no more."

Fans expressed their sadness over the news: "Wow bro no," wrote one.

Another added: "Bro please don't be dead."

"I'm speechless" said one supporter.

The star also goes by the name 'Lil Duke' and found fame with songs such as Cold Hearted, Love Me, Right or Wrong and Broken.

One fan said they are "praying so hard for Lil Duke."
