A celebrity hairstylist has confirmed that Rita Ora has got married.

In an Instagram Story, James Brown, who is also a close friend of the singer, congratulated Rita and Hollywood director Taika Waititi after the couple tied the knot during a secret wedding ceremony.

Brown, 53, shared a picture of himself with 31-year-old Ora alongside the following words: "Congratulations Mrs Waititi Ora."

He also tagged the pair in the post and added: "Love you," with an accompanying love heart emoji.

Speculation grew on Monday that the Anywhere singer had married Waititi, 46, in an intimate London ceremony, with the pair having also been pictured wearing gold bands on their fingers as they held hands.

The couple first started dating in March last year before going public with their relationship in August.

They got engaged two months ago before quickly organising their special ceremony.

It's thought they are now planning to host a huge party to celebrate their big day.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are.

"Despite living in the spotlight, Rita is determined to keep the relationship as private as possible and didn't want to make a big song and dance about the wedding. Rita's already back in the studio working on her third album, with her latest session being with Ava Max and Noah Cyrus' writer Rollo."

Rita hasn't released a studio album in four years since Phoenix, which was a follow-up to her chart-topping debut Ora in 2012.

She did release an EP titled Bang last year, though.

Taika – who has two children from a previous marriage – is best known for being a writer, director and actor, with projects of his including the 2014 film titled What We Do in the Shadows.

He's also known for having been the director on two Thor films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the latest being this year's Thor: Love and Thunder.
