A Place in the Sun viewers blast host Ben Hillman for 'making their teeth itch' with 'fake' habit

FANS of Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun were left cringing on Monday night, after a new episode led to presenter Ben Hillman’s habit being highlighted.

This week’s episode saw the presenter searching for Gary and Jennifer’s dream holiday home in Spain, on the Costa de Almería.

The couple were excited to invest in a stunning new property abroad, and had a budget of £55,000 to find themselves a second home close to the beach.

Only a few minutes into the latest A Place In The Sun instalment, viewers found themselves losing interest in Gary and Jennifer’s house hunt, and being overly-distracted by Ben’s hand gestures.

The presenter would rub his hands together whilst speaking on the programme, and fans couldn’t help but rinse him for his “annoying” and “fake-looking” habits.

Taking to Twitter, fans were quick to blast the host, with his hand-wringing causing one to ask the question: “What’s with Ben always wringing his hands?”.

It didn’t take long for a fellow viewer to sarcastically respond: “I think he thinks it makes him seem like an extrovert and full of fun.”

“An hour of hand wringing from Ben…” joked another fan on Twitter.

And that wasn’t all, as fans were still annoyed by the presenter’s “forced laughter” during the episode.

Despite one fan writing: “Bless him, he always looks nervous and does those fake laughs”, others weren’t having any of it.

One said: “Ben’s fake laughter is making my teeth itch” as another Twitter user agreed “OMFG, not sure I can stand much more of this forced laughter.”

Another concluded: “Ben is stepping up the fake laughter a bit today blimey talk about overkill.”
