American actor Chris Klein, who played high school heartthrob Chris 'Oz' Ostreicher in the American Pie film franchise, showed off his transformation this week, 21 years on from the hit movie being released.
Appearing on Today Extra, Chris (real name Frederick Christopher Klein) revealed what it's like to now play the role of father to school-aged characters.
The 41-year-old actor admitted during the chat that he was "a bit gobsmacked" when he was cast in the 'dad' role on Netflix 's Sweet Magnolias.
He reflected on how the transition from high school student to playing the dad of one happened much faster than expected.
Chris said: "I have to tell you guys, I was a bit gobsmacked when we started this whole thing [Sweet Magnolias] and there I was playing the dad of the teenager."
"It sure happens fast," he added.
Remarking on his transformation, one viewer said: "Gone from 20s to 30s to 40s real quick."
While another harshly added: "Omg. He looks like a grandad."
The first American Pie film hit cinemas in 1999. The movie followed a group of high school teens who were all determined to lose their virginity ahead of graduation.
Chris's character Oz had a romance with Mena Suvari's character Heather in the hugely popular sex comedy film.
Chris reprised his role of Oz in 2001's American Pie 2 and American Pie The Wedding (2012).
However, he didn't appear in American Wedding due to scheduling conflicts.
In addition to the American Pie franchise and his new Netflix role, Chris has starred in a number of other films, including teen movies Just Friends (2005) and American Dreamz (2006).
Chris is married to travel agent Lana Rose Thyfault and the couple share two children.
He was previously engaged to actress Katie Holmes, but the pair ended their five-year relationship in 2005.
