Andrea McLean says her decision to quit Loose Women after over a decade was spurred on by her 2019 breakdown.
The star, 51, said that while she knows she is taking a big jump into the unknown it feels like the right thing to do.
Speaking to Lorraine on Thursday morning, the Scottish host said: "It feels weird that this is it.
"I think it comes back to speaking about the way people are feeling about this year and challenges and goals that people have rethought about.
"I am just like that. I am just like the viewers.
"I had a breakdown last year, it was difficult but I was fortunate enough to piece myself back together and I feel like this year we all had a breakdown.
"I have been able to pave forward the help and advice I was given in 2019.
"I thought 'do I want in 2020 life to go back to normal?" and I was like 'no, I want to make big changes and to use this time to leap into the unknown and see if I fly.
"I have no idea what is coming but all I know is that I want to pave forward all my rubbish experiences – I have learned so much."
Overcome with emotion after talking about how the public have supported her decision, Andrea added: "I cannot tell you how the response has been.
"The response to a 51-year-old woman taking a deep breath and sating 'I am going to jump, who is with me?' -it has been overwhelming."
Sadly for Andrea, due to covid social distancing rules and London being placed into new Tier 3 lockdown, she was unable to have a big send off.

In fact, the starlet jokes it was about as far away from glitter and sparkles as you could get.
She laughed: "We would have all been downtime pub, the crew, the production – everyone until the early hours.
"But no, literally it was nothing because of the laws.
"We had zoom chat on the big screen but they were dismantling the set around me. it was so showbiz like that, ok bye."
