Bill Bailey becomes Strictly's dark horse as fans already label him their winner

Strictly Come Dancing’s Bill Bailey has become the competition’s dark horse.

The comedian took to the ballroom floor tonight with a Quickstep to the Doctor Dolittle track Talk To The Animals.

And he absolutely smashed it – impressing the judges who gave him the whopping score of 24.

‘I’m not too sure about Doctor Dolittle,’ Craig Revel Horwood said. ‘More like Doctor Do A Lot, darling!

‘I thought it was absolutely fan-ta-stic!’

And head judge Shirley Ballas was under the same impression, as she gushed: ‘Last week I talked about your posture, but today you come back, you put your arms up, and you do it on week two!

‘I wanna cry, I wanna hug, I wanna kiss you! You are amazing!’

‘I am genuinely super surprised but a good surprised,’ Motsi Mabuse pressed. ‘I was like “wow, that stamina, that energy,” – it was clear.

‘I enjoyed every single minute of it, well done guys, I have nothing more to say.’

Fans flocked to Twitter following his routine, seeing them make the bold statement that he could be this year’s winner.

When chatting to Claudia Winkleman, Bill said of his scores: ‘It means a great deal, we have put a lot of hours into training and Oti, as you can see, has whipped me into shape.

‘This dance, being whirled around the dancefloor is more than I could image ballroom to be.’

His professional partner Oti Mabuse added: ‘He works absolutely hard and everything I chuck at him he takes it.

‘Yes he’s Bill Bailey, but he’s becoming a dancer.’

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow night on BBC One.
