Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse joined Rylan Clark-Neal on It Takes Two to discuss his success on Strictly Come Dancing and how he feels about his upcoming Jive routine on Saturday. However, the comedian was scolded by his partner after discussing some of the techniques she uses to teach him new routines each week.
Rylan remarked: “I think what’s a real testament to you as well. For any male who comes on Strictly, especially dancing with someone like Oti, the hardest challenge is for you to lead the dance and you really showed that on Saturday.”
“It is,” Bill agreed. “I’m always aware of that because as you say it’s the male dancer’s job to lead.
“And as a non-dancer that’s a little bit unnerving.”
“When we’re in rehearsal, Oti has got her techniques, she’s got my hand and she’s nudging my leg.”

Interrupting, Oti quietly told Bill: “Don’t tell them, they don’t need to know.”
“Shush we keep that close to our chest,” Rylan quipped.
“We keep it smiley,” the Strictly pro added.
Bill then impersonated Oti shouting at him commands while they performed on the Strictly dance floor.
Rylan said: “That’s why I love the video on Twitter of all the audio during [the dances].”
“You have to think, ‘What do I say?’ but the whole time you’re like, ‘Heels, heels, keep your heels going.’”
Rylan continued. “I believe Craig [Revel Horwood] uttered the word extraordinary, which is unbelievable.
“So please tell me what do we need to do to get more than an eight out of Craig Revel Horwood.”

“I don’t know,” Bill replied. “I’m happy with eight, it’s consistent.”
“It’s a great score,” Rylan agreed. “But using words like extraordinary I at least want to see a nine.”
“He wants to push us,” Oti remarked. “He really wants to push us and for us to actually get a nine would be an accomplishment.
“So we’re really working towards that, this week especially.”
Rylan then revealed Dame Joan Collins had taken to social media to praise Bill.
“Good lord,” Bill said. “This is extraordinary. That’s what I mean about this show. Sometimes I have to pinch myself.
“One week it’s Janet Jackson retweeting our video saying, ‘Nice job guys,’ and who is it this week? Joan Collins.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday at 7.15pm.
