Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is making a comeback on Channel 4 and the new competition series will air on August 29. Twelve well-known faces will put themselves through tough challenges in order to prove they can pass SAS Selection. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about which celebrities are in the line-up this season.

Who are the Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins contestants?

Alexandra Burke

Singer Alexandra Burke came into the spotlight when she won The X Factor back in 2008.

Since then the natural-born performer has gone on to star in various musicals.

She is used to taking part in physical challenges, as she featured in the 2017 lineup for Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking about her latest venture, she said: “Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is the most challenging thing physically and mentally I have ever done. It was such a life-changing experience and totally blew my mind. I would do the whole thing again in a heartbeat!”

Saira Khan

TV presenter Saira Khan is known for appearing on The Apprentice, and she finished as a runner-up.

She went on to present The Martin Lewis Money Show and the ITV series, Guess This House.

The 51-year-old mother-of-two is known for putting herself to the test and she is more than ready for this challenge.

She said: “There are things that I have done in my life to prove myself, that I am strong, brave, determined, and a go-getter.

“But Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins was an experience which has changed my life for the better. It humbled me and I am grateful for the show for waking me up to my life and start enjoying and appreciating everything I have worked so hard to achieve. It’s been life-changing.”

Ulrika Jonsson

Ulrika Jonsson is a TV presenter and model who is no stranger to facing physical challenges.

She is best known for being a weather presenter on Good Morning Britain, and she went on to host the game show Gladiators.

The star has competed in TV competitions before, making the final of Celebrity MasterChef back in 2017.

Previously, in 2009, she won Celebrity Big Brother. She said SAS: Who Dares Wins had a “profoundly positive” impact on her.

Kerry Katona

Kerry Katona, 40, is best known for being a member of the girl band Atomic Kitten in 1998.

She too has plenty of experience with TV competitions, winning I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! back in 2004.

She went on to become a runner-up in season eight of Celebrity Big Brother.

This should stand the mother-of-five in good stead to lead the way in her latest challenge.

Kerry called it a “once in a lifetime opportunity” and she learnt a lot about herself.

Jake Quickenden

Jake Quickenden, 32, is a singer, footballer and reality TV star who is best known for being a contestant on The X Factor in 2012.

He has also taken part in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and Dancing On Ice, which he won in 2018.

Jake has had a successful football career, so he should tick all the boxes when it comes to physical challenges.

He started as a youth player for Scunthorpe United and went on to play professionally in Australia for two years.

He said taking part in SAS: Who Dares Wins was an experience he would never forget.

Ore Oduba

Ore is a 35-year-old radio and TV presenter who is best known for presenting Newsround and Hardball.

He took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2016 and went on to win the dance competition.

In 2019 he branched out into musical theatre and starred in the UK tour of Grease.

He said this latest venture has “enhanced” his life.

James Cracknell

Olympic Gold medallist James is an athlete and rowing champion, so physical tasks should be a walk in the park.

The father-of-three was appointed an OBE for his services to sport, but whether he will be able to overcome the mental and emotional challenges of Who Dares Wins is another question.

Wes Nelson

Wes is a TV personality who is known for his appearance on the ITV series Love Island.

He was also one of the contestants on Dancing on Ice and The X Factor: Celebrity.

Shanaze Reade

Shanaze is known for living on the wild side as she is a former bicycle motocross racer and track cyclist.

She is a three-time winner of the UCI BMX World Championships, so she has a good chance of reaching the top spot in her next physical challenge.

The 32-year-old first took part in the Olympic Games in 2008, but SAS: Who Dares Wins is in a completely different league.

She said: “I wanted to strip myself bare and see the work that I’d done on myself. I wanted the mental challenge and the physical challenge and it was the perfect show.”

Kieron Dyer

Kieron is a former midfielder who started his career at Ipswich Town, where he is now the U23s manager.

He went on to play professionally for Newcastle United and West Ham and represented England on many occasions.

Kieron definitely stands a good chance of performing well under pressure in his latest challenge.

He said: “I was a glass half empty kind of guy. Fear is what set us back. Going on this show was always going to be great from a mental point of view. The DS put their life on their line and it was great to learn from them”

Aled Davies

Aled Davies is a Welsh Paralympian athlete who is best known for competing in throwing events.

He became a shot put world record holder in 2012 and is a decorated athlete when it comes to winning medals.

Aled said: “I’m a para-athlete, so for me, this was an opportunity to completely get as far as possible out of my comfort zone and challenge myself…it was an incredible journey.”

She spent three years on the reality series Geordie Shore in her early days as a TV star.
