Gary (played by Mikey North) has wreaked havoc on the cobbles of Coronation Street over the past year, leaving destruction and death in his wake. The long-standing character’s turn to the dark side has already claimed four lives and seen many more exits of other Weatherfield residents. However, a newcomer is set to turn his world upside down when they arrive on the ITV soap later this year, but can they finally expose him as a deadly villain?
This time last year, Gary’s reign of terror began when he caused the Underworld factory roof collapse which claimed the life of fan favourite, Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia).
Following the reveal he was, in fact, the super villain of the cobbles, the former builder found himself embroiled in the world of loan shark, Rick Neelan (Greg Wood).
Their business arrangement soon turned into a better feud and the latter ended up dead as his client took deadly revenge.
Although he buried the corpse and thought he’d seen the back of any trace of the criminal from his life, the dodgy dealer will get the shock of his life when a member of Rick’s family turns up in Weatherfield.

The super villain knew the loan shark had a teenage daughter, Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson), and believed he’d knocked her off the scent when she began asking questions following her father’s ‘mysterious’ disappearance.
What the criminal might not have realised was his victim also had a wife, who has been left widowed as a result of his murder.
Later this year, she will be the one doing some digging about her husband’s death and could be the one to discover exactly how dangerous Gary is.
Given the shut down of production in light of the coronavirus pandemic, it may be some time before she arrives but when she does, the dodgy dealer is going to have to think quick to avoid being exposed.
Gary’s life is about to unravel
A source told The Sun Online: “Gary’s life is about to unravel when Claire turns up and confronts him.
“He thinks he’s got away with the murder and moved on – but of course, in soap, nothing ever stays in the past!”
Executive producer Iain MacLeod previously teased Rick’s death would come back to haunt the supervillain during the soap’s big May week.
However, he explained hotshot lawyer Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) would be playing a big part in bringing down the dodgy dealer.

Of course, these scenes could come a little later than planned but when they do air, it’s likely to be explosive.
The soap boss told Metro.co.uk: “We’re aware that Rick’s body is resting over there, and we are resisting the urge to dig it up as it feels like everyone is expecting us to.”
After resting in the ground for almost a year, will the loan shark’s wife finally discover his resting place as she and Adam join forces?
Could this be the moment viewers have been waiting for as Gary’s murderous secret comes to light?

During the soap’s terrifying Christmas episodes, the dodgy dealer’s reign of terror claimed another two lives in a shocking shooting.
Becoming the loan shark of Weatherfield after killing his predecessor, one of his clients Derek Milligan (Craige Els) wanted revenge for ruining his life.
Unfortunately, their feud saw Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) caught up in the crossfire as he died along with gunman Derek.
If Rick’s wife comes close to the truth about his dark side, could the supervillain end up claiming another life?
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7:30pm on ITV.
