Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon reveals gender of baby

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has revealed the gender of her baby.

The actress, who played Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, is expecting a baby boy with partner Ryan Ledson, revealing that she ‘wasn’t bothered’ about if they were having a son or a daughter.

‘We found out the gender at 16 weeks,’ she told OK! Magazine.

‘Obviously we weren’t bothered either way, but Ryan was so convinced we were having a girl.

Lucy and Ryan, 25, invited their loved ones to a baby shower in Liverpool this past weekend, when they revealed their happy news to everyone.

They parted until 2am in the morning, with Lucy adding that she changed into her pyjamas for a dance on the dance floor.

‘I was the first one up and I was there until the end. I went upstairs at 10.30pm to put PJs on, but came back for more dancing until 1.30am.’

The soap star revealed earlier this year that she and footballer partner Ryan were expecting a child.

‘‘We’ve been keeping it a secret,’ she told the publication in September.

‘I’m scared but excited.’

Lucy left Coronation Street in 2020 after five years as Bethany in the hopes of pursuing new projects, but the Covid-19 pandemic ultimately halted her plans.

‘It was very difficult,’ she told last year, ‘I literally left Corrie in January [2020], and then we went into lockdown in March!

‘It was hard at first, as I was used to working everyday and then going to doing nothing, but it was hard for everybody, so I didn’t feel like I was on my own.’
