Corrie’s Maria Connor pregnant with villain’s baby in bombshell storyline

Maria Connor will be pregnant with Weatherfield villain Gary Windass' baby – which is set to spark off an explosive storyline for a number of Coronation Street characters.

In the run-up to Christmas, the soap favourite will share her big news with boyfriend Gary, played by Mikey North.

New Corrie spoilers have shown all will be revealed on Monday 9 December when Maria tells villainous Gary.

In response, he suggests the pair of them should view a flat which is up for rent in Victoria Court in a bid to prove more of a commitment to his new relationship.

"She does really like Gary. Obviously she has known him for years. He is a single dad, she is a single mum, so they've got a lot in common in that sense and he is being really sweet to her," actress Samia Ghadie – who plays Maria – teased.

She explained how her relationship with Gary may have started as a bit of a rebound after Ali dumped her, but the more Maria sees Gary, the more she likes him.

Although Samia confessed she does think Maria still has feelings for Ali deep down.

Samia added: "She is throwing herself into this relationship with Gary to try and make it work because she knows that Ali is in a bit of a mess, so Gary seems like the safe bet… which couldn't be further from the truth!

"It wasn't her decision to end the relationship with Ali and she is still puzzled as to why it all ended so suddenly when he had just told her that he loved her.

"She knows that Ali still has feelings for her, so there is still some unfinished business there. But she's trying to ignore those feelings, she is not trying to play a game."

Samia discussed how Ali reacts to the news of her pregnancy and admitted Maria thinks he's jealous as he mentions about getting rid of the baby.

But could a reunion still be on the cards?
