Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree have slowly but surely brought their French estate back to its former glory on Escape to the Chateau. The celebrity couple have documented their journey on making Chateau de la Motte Husson not just a home, but a holiday destination. Their creativity and talent runs in the family, as Strawbridge’s son James is successful in his own right.
What does Dick Strawbridge’s son do now?
First airing in 2016, Escape to the Chateau has given viewers eight series showcasing Chateau de la Motte Husson’s restoration.
Now, the chateau is back to its former glory and more popular than ever.
The estate gets regular guest visits and offers numerous day trips and holiday options, with the chateau and grounds available to explore.
Not only has the show given viewers an insight into the chateau, but it has also showcased Dick and Angel’s family life.
Dick’s son James has made a few appearances across the series, with the young star being a successful chef in his own right – running Strawbridge Kitchen.
The 37-year-old star is “the driving force behind Strawbridge Kitchen,” as it states on his website.
This is a food development and recipe development company based out of the South Cornish coast.
James lives there with his wife Holly and their three young children.
The photographer and chef works with a variety of different clients in producing new culinary delights and directing photoshoots.
His company has gone on to win numerous awards for product development and innovative recipes.
On top of this ,James is also an author, writing The Artisan Kitchen, with his next book about zero-waste vegetable cookery releasing in September.
On Escape to the Chateau, James has helped his dad Dick prepare food for events at Chateau de la Motte Husson.
Back in 2019, he helped create the menu for Adoree’s parent’s 50th wedding anniversary.
The pair prepared food for over 100 guests with the aim of the evening being a “party of a lifetime” as Dick called it at the time.
Due to James running his own company and living in Cornwall, he has not made as many appearances as some fans would like.
Personally dealing with all the Marketing and PR of Strawbridge Kitchen, he has used all his skills to make the company the success it is today.
Escape to the Chateau has continued to be a major success for Channel 4, with the show continuing to be one of their most popular shows.
Fans have taken to Twitter to discuss their love for the series, with one writing: “Love, Escape to the Chateau. Angel’s so quirky and creative and Dick’s so handy.” (sic)
Another added: “Love Escape to the Chateau. That family truly embraces life and fun.”
Escape to the Chateau is available on Channel 4’s catch up service All4.
