EastEnders fans are elated to see Jessica Plummer star in a brand new BBC show, The Girl Before.
The four-part psychological thriller sees the 28 year old take on the role of a lifetime as she stars as the so called ‘girl before’, Emma, who was murdered in a mysterious minimalistic house.
The stunning property has been designed by an enigmatic architect, played by renowned Selma actor, David Oyelowo, who makes sure the occupants abide by his strict list of rules.
The plot revolves around Jane, played by Loki and former Doctor Who star, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who moves into the uninhabited property and feels the house affecting her in unexplained ways.
Jane unearths the shocking discovery that Emma died in the house and she begins to notice similarities between herself and Jessica’s character.
In the chilling trailer, the story switches between the two women's narratives from the present with Gugu's character to the past with Jessica's, as everything about the house and its owner begins to unravel.
The gripping new series is based on JP Delaney’s best-selling novel of the same name and the series is sure to be just as good as the author has co-written the screenplay with Marissa Lestrade.
The star-studded cast, led by Killing Eve director Lisa Bruhlman, also boasts another EastEnders actor, Ben Hardy.
According to Variety, the BBC One soap actors will play a couple in this new drama, with Ben, 30, playing the role of Emma’s boyfriend, Simon.
Since leaving EastEnders in 2015, Ben has stared in blockbusters such as X-Men: Apocalypse and 6 Underground as well as the highly acclaimed biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody.
The synopsis for the new series reads: "Jane starts to feel the house changing her in unexpected ways, but when she makes the shocking discovery about her predecessor Emma, she's forced to confront unnerving similarities.
“As the two women's timelines interweave, Jane begins to question if her fate will be the same as the girl before.”
The tense teaser for the new show could not be more different than the former I’m a Celeb’s star role on the long-running BBC One soap as Chantelle Atkins.
The Girl Before begins at 9am on BBC One on Sunday 19 December.
