EastEnders' Shirley star Linda Henry gives rare TV interview next week

EastEnders veteran Linda Henry will reminisce about her time on the BBC One soap thus far in a rare interview next week.

The actress — who portrays Shirley Carter in the serial drama — will sit down with Stacey Dooley and co-star Luisa Bradshaw-White — aka Tina Carter — in the next edition of Secrets From The Square.

Linda and Luisa – who are close friends in real-life – delve into the past to check out some iconic moments featuring both of their characters, before revealing some behind the scenes stories about the moments in question.

Linda will open up about how fans react when seeing ‘Shirley’ in the street, while Luisa will reminisce about her own brush with musical superstardom.

The Walford icons also discuss how a tender scene on-camera swiftly became a riot of laughter and chaos when the cameras cut.

They’ll re-live some of their biggest storylines, including Shirley’s revelation that Mick (Danny Dyer) is her son.

Linda will also reflect on Shirley’s unforgettable friendship with Heather Trott.

No episode of SFTS would be complete without a tour around an Albert Square property and, this time, Stacey will be given an access all areas tour of the upstairs of the The Vic.

This will be the first two SFTS episodes which will air on the week in question, and the second will feature interviews with Lorraine Stanley, Jessica Plummer and Toby-Alexander Smith — aka Karen Taylor, Chantelle and Gray Atkins.

Ones to watch: Monday August 24 at 8pm on BBC One.
