BEN Mitchell finally declares his love for Callum Highway next week in EastEnders after another rocky patch in their relationship.
The gangster – played by Max Bowden on the BBC One soap – is still reeling from his hearing loss and is set to betray Callum and get arrested this week – much to Callum’s dismay.
Ben and Callum have had quite the rocky road to romance since they started sleeping together while Callum was closeted and engaged to Whitney in EastEnders.
After making it official, the pair faced another setback when Callum announced he wanted to join the police force.
They eventually remained together after Ben promised to turn over a new leaf and leave his criminal life behind.
But Ben’s part in Phil’s revenge plot against Sharon’s mystery man didn’t go down so well with Callum, especially when Ben returned home with blood on his shirt after helping Phil make Jack Branning pay.
When Callum confronted him, an emotional Ben told Callum that he had to let him go to protect him.
However, it wasn’t long before the couple got back together with Ben admitting his love.
It’s looking like Ballum could end up on the rocks again this week after Ben’s cruel betrayal and arrest.
Still reeling from his hearing loss, Ben takes out his frustrations on Callum and heads to drown his sorrows at the Prince Albert.
Disaster strikes when he gets cosy with a random man named Hugo before stealing his car and getting arrested.
However, in scenes set to air next week, the couple are set to get over the bump in the road and reunite.
Next week’s episodes of EastEnders will see tensions high as the day of Dennis’s funeral arrives.
In the upcoming scenes, when Jay arrives to pass Sharon flowers from Ben and Lola, Sharon insists that no Mitchell is welcome.
During the wake, Sharon looks like she’s about to burst when she spots Ben defiantly turning up.
Callum supports Ben through the day and everything that’s happened and encourages him to face the situation head on.
Touched by Callum’s devotion, Ben admits he loves him.
But will Ben’s mood last?
The Sun Online revealed that Callum is going to organise deaf character Frankie's arrival in the Square to help Ben come to terms with his hearing loss.
Frankie is going to communicate with Ben using sign language – a first for the soap.
Callum's idea will bring Ben and Callum closer together as he finds new ways of coming to terms with his disability.
