EastEnders’ star left million pound fortune to husband

EASTENDERS icon Dame Barbara Windsor left £4.6million to husband Scott Mitchell in her will.

National treasure Babs, who died of Alzheimer’s at age 83 last December, also left cash to good causes, relatives — and her on-screen sister.

Babs also left £5,000 to sister-in-law Marsha Alexander and her husband Laurence, plus £2,000 each to cousins Leslie Larsen and Julie Elliot.

The rest of her £4.63million estate went to third husband Scott, 58, who she married in 2000.

The Sun revealed in March that he inherited the company she used for her TV pay, worth nearly £1million.

Babs also left £1,000 each to seven charities — the NSPCC, Breast Cancer Care, Help The Aged, showbiz organisation Grand Order Of Lady Ratlings, National Osteoporisis Society, Headley Court wounded soldiers rehab centre and Age UK.

EastEnders viewers open-mouthed as they spot ‘Coronation Street character’ in cafe scene

FANS of EastEnders were seeing double, or so they thought, as it appeared that Coronation Street's Sarah Platt has popped by.

If you are a regular EastEnders' viewer, you mahave been left scratching your head when a lookalike of Tina O'Brien seemed to be having a cuppa in Kathy's cafe.

It would be quite some commute from the fictional town of Weatherfield in Greater Manchester, where Coronation Street is set to the also fictional borough of Walford, which is home to EastEnders.

After a double-take and realising that Sarah Platt would never turn her back on Roy Cropper's fine dining, fans realised it was an extra just having a lovely time on set.

One fan on Twitter said: "Had to look twice to see if it was her haha."

Now able to focus on what was happening in the scene, fans saw all the drama unfold as Eve Unwin, played by Heather Peace, went on an intoxicated rant at Suki Panesar.

    Eve's bad drunk acting (continued…)

Having had far too much to drink, Eve is seen struggling to stand while verbally attacking Suki in the cafe, which left some viewers struggling to watch the performance.

One user wrote on Twitter: "This is the worst drunk acting I have ever seen. Sitting here cringing."

"Eve acting drunk verses Phil acting drunk. Phil will win every time. #Eastenders," another added.

A third fan said: "Heather peace acting drunk on eastenders is next level cringe."

EastEnders fans seriously distracted by ‘worst drunk acting ever’ during explosive Eve and Suki row

EASTENDERS viewers weren't impressed after Walford's newest member Eve Unwin appeared to indulge in one too many drinks.

Joining Albert Square in October, Eve, played by Heather Peace is already making waves on the BBC One soap.

Joining the show as Stacy Slater's wife, she caused a scene in the cafe on Monday night's episode, having had clearly one too many drinks.

Stacy is played by actress Lacey Turner and their marriage is purely platonic to help Eve prove to probation officers that she had somewhere stable to live after leaving prison.

In her short but impactful time on the show, Eve is already a cause for concern and is already fuelling tension between the Slaters and Panesars.

Landlady Suki Panesars discovered that the Slaters snuck into her home when it was vacant and, with concerns about Eve, issued the Slater’s with an eviction notice.

So Debbie decides to take matters into her own hands and starts digging into Ray’s crimes to find something to use against him.

And she does – as she finds proof he paid someone to create the sinkhole in the Platts’ garden.

It led to the deaths of Johnny Connor and unwittingly Natasha Blakeman.

Visiting him in prison she tells him that unless he pleads guilty to sexually assaulting Faye, she’s going to report him to the police for the death of Johnny Connor.

Huge moment for the deaf community

IT has been hailed as the television moment of the year – and a triumph for the deaf community.

Strictly viewers were moved to tears as Rose Ayling-Ellis, 26, and pro partner Giovanni Pernice danced in silence on Saturday night during their Couple’s Choice routine, which scored 39 out of 40.

Now campaigners hope it could lead to greater equality for disabled people — as well as better under-standing of deafness.

Former Strictly contestant and Invictus Games medallist JJ Chal-mers said EastEnders star Rose’s dance would help “get us to where we want to be” with regards to attitudes around disability”.

Speaking yesterday, ex-Royal Marine JJ, 34, said: “We are making massive inroads to where we need to be in society and within broadcast, and that is wonderful. People like Rose will get us where we want to be.”

He added that it’s “nice to see people talking about her disability, yes, but also being able to look beyond it”.

Sir Patrick Stewart saved me from death, says Corrie's Gemma Oaten

EVEN as doctors at the psychiatric hospital where she was being treated for an eating disorder gave her 24 hours to live, the young Gemma Oaten dreamed of one day starring in Corrie.

Now 37, the actress who has starred in Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and Holby City finally got her wish as viewers saw her on the famous TV cobbles this week.

In an exclusive interview, Gemma reveals she would not have made it without the support of her mentor and friend, Hollywood A-lister Sir Patrick Stewart.

After recovering from her troubles which started at age ten and dogged her in her teens, Gemma wrote to the TV, stage and screen giant for advice.

And for more than a decade, Star Trek’s Jean-Luc Picard has urged Gemma to be honest and open about her past, giving her the strength to succeed in acting, overcome her disorder and help other sufferers.

How long has Corrie been on our screens?

From the moment Coronation Street first aired live on December 9, 1960, millions have been gripped by the ups and downs of Weatherfield’s residents.

Its early days portrayed a realistic kitchen-sink drama showing the ordinary day-to-day lives of working-class northerners, and the show was considered ground-breaking.

It is the second longest running soap opera in the UK after The Archers.

But not everyone liked it. One early critic wrote: “The programme is doomed from the outset . . . with its dreary signature tune and grim scenes of a row of terraced houses.”

Over sixty years on and the signature tune and terraced houses are still there.

Sarah Jayne back on our screens soon (continued)

At the time she told us: "I’m disappointed it has come to this, after so many years. I’ve loved being on Hollyoaks and I will miss the amazing cast and crew very much. But I feel like I had to take a stand.

“For me this is about having the right as a woman of 40 years old to decide what is right for me.

“I love photoshoots and I’ve worked hard for my figure. I don’t make a secret of the fact that I get a big boost out of it, and I’m not apologetic for that.

Sarah also opened up about struggling financially during her time on the show, insisting that soap actors are not paid as well as some might think.

She said: "There's a huge misconception that people on TV shows earn huge amounts of money, it just isn't the case.

"People talk about massive six-figure salaries but the reality is that if your character isn't in a big storyline for a while you can end up struggling some months."

We could be seeing more of Sarah Jayne soon

Sarah Jayne Dunn could be back on screens sooner rather than later following her sacking from Hollyoaks.

The 40-year-old has been approached to make a documentary about being forced to choose between her job on the Channel 4 soap and uploading sexy pictures to OnlyFans, The Sun can reveal.

A source said: "Since leaving the soap, Sarah has been offered a lot of work – and been approached by a lot of companies about making a documentary on the whole experience of leaving Hollyoaks and taking control of her own career by launching an OnlyFans account.

"Nothing is confirmed and it's all early stages, but it's something to explore for Sarah."

Earlier this month The Sun revealed that Sarah had been sacked from her £120k-a-year role as Mandy Richardson, a character she's played on and off since 1996, after she refused to quit OnlyFans.

    Dealer Deol (continued)

His character, Kheerat, is well-loved by viewers, and their love of him is reflected in him recently winning the Best TV Character sections at the 2021 Asian Media Awards in October this year.

While at the award ceremony, he said:

“To hear your name being called in a room full of people you admire and respect is an experience in and of itself.

“It’s surreal, emotional and overwhelming. In particular this one because it comes from MY community.

“To be embraced by such an audience and hearing those who came up to me afterwards share their feelings of connection to Kheerat Singh Panesar almost had me in tears.”

    Dealer Deol

FROM Walford to wallpapering, EastEnders actor Jaz Deol likes to keep himself busy when he is away from Albert Square.

Fans will know Jaz, 32, as Kheerat Panesar in the BBC show who joined the show in 2019 as a businessman and the eldest brother in the Panesar family, the first Sikh family on the show.

But after launching JHD Homes on Instagram back in February 2021, Jaz works as a property investor when his filming schedule isn't too gruelling.

Sharing images of some of his recent projects, he is focusing on properties in South Wales at the moment, and his bio reads: "Passion for creating homes and building long term wealth."

Fans were initally worried that he would potentially be leaving the soap, but it appears that Jaz just likes to pack out his scheduled and explore other passions.

Commenting under one image on his property account, the actor and businessman on and off-screen said: "There's no question that market right now is incredibly hot. You could argue the many reasons why but the bottom line is that finding good deals is harder than ever.

"How do you know what is a good deal or a bad deal? That's entirely up to you. Key thing is to know your critieria, your why and your level of comfort with risk."

    World away from Watford

Eastenders actress Kate Robbins has revealed her stunning colourful pad away from her on-screen life in Walford.

The Sun was first to reveal the actress' latest telly role as music producer Jen Glover on the BBC soap.

Yet away from Albert Square, the stage and screen star, 62, hunkers down in a beautifully sophisticated pad with a lounge adorned with wooden floorboards and a pastel-pink sofa.

A grey settee also sits in the same room, which is given a modern boost courtesy of a chest of drawers with a jazzy zig-zag engraving.

The telly favourite often documents her Celebrity Juice star daughter, Emily Atack, and her talent director sister Martha spending time at the property.

How long has Adam Woodyatt been in Eastenders?

The 52-year-old debuted in EastEnders' first-ever episode in 1985 and has since become the soap's longest-serving cast member.

For his role as Ian Beale, Adam has portrayed everything from loan shark to property tycoon, been married four times and has won five British Soap Awards..

Despite appearing in over 2,000 episodes, Adam revealed he hates getting a famous “duff, duff, duff” moment on the show because he has to stand "like a lemon".

  • [email protected]

    What is Adam Woodyatt's networth?

As the show's longest-serving cast member, Adam rightfully is also one of the soap's highest earners.

In July 2017, his salary was leaked by Piers Morgan who tweeted: "BBC SALARIES (Soaps) Highest paid actor: Adam Woodyatt & Danny Dyer: £200k-£249k."

Despite being an Albert Square resident for more than 30 years, Adam doesn't assume his contract will be renewed and it's always a surprise when he's awarded a new deal.

The actor also earns a nice little side-gig away from the day job, acting on the panto circuit for years for which he reportedly earns around £130,000 a production.

It was reported in November 2021, that Woodyatt splashed out on a new 100k camper van.

You would probably think he could spare his ex-wife a bob or two.

    Beale's wheels

Adam Woodyatt is set to infuriate his estranged wife further after buying a brand new camper van for nearly £100,000.

The actor — soon to join I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here — splashed out on the Carthago motor home last week

Wife Beverley, 56, is said to be struggling financially and surviving on hand-outs from loved ones since they split last summer after 22 years.

She was furious after he signed a six-figure deal with ITV to appear on I’m a Celeb, which starts next Sunday.

Adam, 53, made the pricey purchase from a showroom in Lincoln. The Sun understands he traded in his old vehicle.

The star — who has played Ian Beale in the BBC soap since 1985 — has been living in a motor home while touring with a theatre production.
