EastEnders star Danny Walters, who plays Keanu Taylor on the soap, has reportedly split from his girlfriend Lily Smith after five years together.
The pair have ended things after the actor wanted to focus more on his work, but still have ‘a lot of respect for each other’, according to claims.
‘Danny and Lily still have a lot of respect for each other, but want to spend time concentrating on their own goals,’ a source said.
They added to The Sun: ‘They’re both really young and have a lot of growing to do separately, so felt it was best to try being single.
‘However they still remain close and have a lot of respect for each other.’
The 26-year-old, who recently apologised when some of his old homophobic tweets were unearthed, bagged the role back in June 2017, later earning a National Television Award for Best Newcomer.
Amid the split, Danny has been at the centre of an explosive story line, after heart-throb Keanu had a steamy affair with Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean), with her falling pregnant afterwards.
The young lad professed his love for the Walford legend, but upon Phil’s (Steve McFadden) return to the Square, Sharon had her hubby ship Keanu off to Spain to get him out of her life — but the trip resulted in Keanu getting seriously injured.
Afterwards, Phil ordered him to protect his daughter Louise (Tilly Keeper) at all costs when Danny Hardcastle (Paul Usher) showed up.
Before long, Keanu fell for Louise, but matters grew complicated when he discovered that Lou was pregnant. In spite of their initial hesitation, the young lovers committed to one another, and remained hopeful about their future as parents.
Meanwhile, Phil tried to force his daughter to have an abortion. However, refusing to be pushed around, Louise told him in no uncertain terms that she’s keeping the baby.
Louise is now set to spill about Sharon’s pregnancy to Keanu, with the young lad feeling compelled to tell the truth about the affair.
