Gray Atkins (played by Toby-Alexander Smith) may unleash his homicidal side yet again on the BBC soap by killing Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) music producer Jen (Kate Robbins) to stop her from leaving his side. Will Whitney realise Gray is plotting to put an end to her singing career before he kills off the EastEnders newcomer?

In Tuesday’s episode, Whitney sang a stunning rendition of The Power of Love by Jennifer Rush in front of music producer Jen and a crowd.

When she clambered off the stage Gray told her she was “brilliant” and warned her that the job offers are going to be “flooding in”.

Jen stepped in: “Actually, there might have been something that’s come in already.

“And it’s the kind of cash which means you can work one year, and take the next two years off if you wanted.”

She added: “Every morning, you’ll have a different view out of the window. The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda and that’s just the B’s.”

An alarmed Gray soon learned that Jen is planning to make Whitney a cruise ship singer to entertain holidaymakers across the globe.

Jen told Whitney: “It’s just the job for a single girl with no ties. I am assuming you’re single – with no husband or kids?”

When Whitney replied saying no, Jen took her aside for a private conversation about her music career while Gray looked on alarmed.

Later on, Gray asked Whitney whether she thought a singing career was “a bit of a waste”, but she disagreed with him as she thought it was a brilliant opportunity.

A desperate Gray told Whitney: “I know when Jen first said it, it sounded great. But you know the type of people who go on cruise ships right?

“You’ll be serenading people using zimmer frames every night.”

Whitney scoffed: “When was the last time you went on a cruise? It’s better than freezing my bits off on the market and it gets me anyway from all those memories you know?

“A year will fly by, and I am not saying I am going to make it big time on a cruise ship, but if I can make a success of it, then who knows what might happen?”

In a bid to stop Whitney from jetting off with Jen to launch her singing career, Gray hinted to the music producer that Whitney had a secret.

Jen asked: “Is there something I should know?”

Gray explained: “No, it’s really not important. All you need to know is Whitney Dean will be the biggest asset any promoter could have – it’s as simple as that.”

Has Gray done enough to get Jen to drop Whitney from her management, or will he have to take matters into his own violent hands?

Gray murdered his wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) last year before killing Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) too after she learned the truth.

Earlier this year, Gray murdered Whitney’s partner Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) after she planned to flee Walford with him.

Who is to say he will not kill again in a bid to tighten his grip on lover Whitney?

EastEnders airs on BBC One on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
