Ferne McCann's mystery man who showered her with lavish gifts revealed as £30million businessman

A MYSTERY man known as Mr C who showered Ferne McCann with gifts and attention was £30million businessman Charlie Wilson, we can reveal today.

The property developer, 29, took the former Towie favourite on a series of dates after getting to know her through Instagram.

Charlie, who appeared in this year’s Sunday Times Rich List, flew Ferne by private jet to Cannes in the south of France last month for her 30th birthday.

Ferne excitedly revealed the treat on her ITV2 series First Time Mum.

She said: “Holy smackaroonies! Mr C has saved the day. Who is this guy?

"Where’s he come from. Has he stepped out of a novel? I’m really excited.”

In another episode, the ex-I’m A Celeb contestant revealed she had told her tycoon beau that he did not need to be so generous.

She said: “I said to him, ‘Please, no more surprises or anything like that. Just a nice classic date!’”

Charlie’s firm, Chase New Homes, is building hundreds of properties in Hertfordshire.

A source said Charlie had always fancied Ferne so he messaged her on Instagram, adding: “He charmed her with lavish dates and gifts.

“But he isn’t keen on being in the public eye so he didn’t want to be part of her show. He’s very generous but quite shy so found the idea of fame overwhelming.”

Ferne and Charlie went their separate ways earlier this month and she is still seeking Mr Right.

She said: “I am looking for a boyfriend ready to sign a deal tomorrow. I can’t do another lockdown single.

“I’m hoping I just hit it off with someone and we get on so well we can join a support bubble.

“I can move him in, and the rest will be history.”

Ferne, who has a daughter, Sunday, three, with Arthur Collins — serving 20 years’ jail for an acid attack — admits that dating during the pandemic has been “dire”.

She said: “The restrictions are killing off people’s love lives. It’s terrible.”
