Matt James has made history as being the first Black man to star on The Bachelor, but that doesn’t mean that fighting for diversity and inclusion for future seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette stops here. After Rachel Lindsay—who prior to Matt’s casting was the sole black lead in the entire franchise—rightfully called out ABC for failing to cast people of different backgrounds, more from Bachelor Nation are coming forward with their thoughts…including former show producer, Jazzy Collins.
On Instagram, Jazzy penned a letter—tagging The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and ABC Network—about her experience as a woman of color producing the show while Rachel was the lead. “My hope was that having a racially diverse cast of gentlemen would be an important milestone that would continue into the future. That was not the case,” she explained as she continued working with ABC.
